4 to 6 Months
In this period, the uncontrollable continuous crying that must have occurred in the previous 3 months will slowly but surely subside. This may be difficult for an adult to understand; however, the ages of 4 to 6 months are still a time when your baby is not able to see himself as an individual existing in this world. In other words, everything that is happening around your baby is part of his world, and he is within the sea of his own sensations.
Even though your baby cannot say a word, he may understand when spoken to or even attempt to communicate non-verbally. When your baby utters some sounds, imitate and repeat what you hear. This will encourage your baby to talk. It’s always important to talk to your baby even if he cannot talk back. It is also a great practice to explain to your baby what he is doing, such as “You are holding a red car now.”
